Autumn magic on the Niederhorn

Is the overcast weather getting you down? Why not just head to the mountains by taking the cable car from Beatenbucht up to Mt. Niederhorn at an altitude of 1,950 metres? From there, you can enjoy the unique view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains from the terrace of the mountain restaurant – and bask in the last sunrays of late autumn.

Travel comfortably by train to Thun or Interlaken West. Then take the STI bus (from Thun) or the PostBus (from Interlaken) to "Beatenbucht" or "Beatenberg Station". Or by boat from Interlaken West, Thun or another landing stage to "Beatenbucht".

Availability

From 13 November to 3 December 2023, the funicular railway, the cable car and the Berghaus Niederhorn operate on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Restaurants

The Beatenbucht and Niederhorn restaurants are open.

Brunch is also offered at the Berghaus Niederhorn.

Niederhorn Brunch

Celebrate the weekend with brunch on the Niederhorn. Includes everything you need for a mountain brunch: orange juice and a selection of hot drinks, croissants, plaited loaf and various other breads, butter and jam, cheese, sausage products and smoked salmon, yoghurt, Bircher muesli and fruit salad, various cereals with milk, scrambled egg with sausages and fried bacon, and much more.

The Niederhorn Brunch is from this year on Saturdays and Sundays from 09:00 to 11:00 hours.
Price per person: adults CHF 34.00, children under 5 years CHF 0.00, children from 6 to 16 years CHF 19.00

Also available as a combined ticket including train journey

How to get there

Travel comfortably by train to Thun or Interlaken West. Then take the STI bus (from Thun) or the PostBus (from Interlaken) to "Beatenbucht" or "Beatenberg Station".

Or by boat from Interlaken West, Thun or another landing stage across Lake Thun to "Beatenbucht".

The funicular and cable car will then take you up to the Niederhorn.
