“The Black Spider”

Special exhibition at the Gotthelf Centre in Lützelflüh

The secrets behind the plague, animal diseases – and the devil! Gotthelf’s famous novella is set at a baptism on a farm in the Emmental Valley. The plot centres around an old black window post (“Bystal”) in what is supposedly a new house… Discover the secret of this post, which has a hole and a peg in it, learn about the medieval plague epidemic in the Emmental Valley, the role the devil played in it – and where the black spider comes in.

  • CHF 420.00 basic price for a tour (51–75 people)
  • This excludes the admission price at the group rate (see above).
