Winter excursion tips
History Museum Berne / Einstein Museum
The stately, castle-like museum across from the Old City houses one of Switzerland’s most distinguished historical collections.
The prize exhibits include the Graechwil Hydria, a mysterious bronze vessel of Greek provenance dating to the 6th centuryBC. As well as the Königsfelden Diptych, a master-piece of Venetian craftsmanship created c. 1290. The historical collection is an ideal key to the history of Bern, a city that was once the most powerful city-state north of the Alps and today figures on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
