The small Italian town is two hours from Bern by train. Every Saturday, there’s a big market with specialities and everything imaginable to delight a shopper’s heart: an incredible diversity of cheeses, meat, fruit, vegetables and much more besides from evening dresses to pyjamas, underwear, shoes and socks. Bags, jackets, belts and hats in leather are there in profusion. Our tip: before you leave, visit an Italian restaurant for some delicious pizza and pasta.
