Langenthal–Wolhusen / Huttwil–Ramsei

Streckennetz der ehemaligen VHB

Historical review:

Until 1997, the line was owned by the United Huttwil Railways (VHB).This railway company had been established in 1944 through the merger of the Langenthal–Huttwil Railway (LHB), the Huttwil–Wolhusen Railway (HWB) and the Ramsei–Sumiswald–Huttwil Railway (RSHB).

In 1997, the VHB merged with the Emmental–Burgdorf–Thun Railway (EBT) and the Solothurn-Münster Railway (SMB) to form Regionalverkehr Mittelland (RM). The RM, in turn, merged with BLS Lötschbergbahn (BLS) to become BLS AG with legal effect of 27 June 2006.
