Lötschberger RegioExpress + Regio
The more beautiful way to the Bernese
Oberland and the Valais
People who travel on trains which speed through the Lötschberg base tunnel may save a bit of time, but in doing so they miss out on a lot. The imposing Kander Viaduct, the turning loops around the Felsenburg (castle rock) or the impressive view down into the Rhône valley can only be experienced on the mountain route via Kandersteg and Goppenstein, which is more than 100 years old. That is why railway and nature lovers leave the Lötschberg base tunnel to those who are in a hurry and choose the more beautiful way to the Valais.
Additional weekend trains
In order to increase seating capacity on peak travel days, additional trains will be running as required on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays on the Bern - Goppenstein line from 4 June - 16 October 2016.
Whether they will be in service you will see here each Thursday from midday onwards.
