Lötschberger RegioExpress
The more beautiful way to the Bernese
Oberland and the Valais
People who have been speeding through the new Lötschberg base tunnel have saved a little time and missed a great deal instead. The imposing Kander Viaduct, the turning loops around the Felsenburg and the impressive view of the Rhone Valley can only be experienced on the almost 100-year-old mountain route between Kandersteg and Goppenstein.
This is why railway and nature lovers leave the Lötschberg base tunnel to those who are in a hurry and choose the more beautiful way to the Valais.
RegioExpress trains run between Spiez and Brig at hourly intervals. In the mornings and in the evenings, the trains run directly from/to Berne; on Sundays, they do so all day.
Since late 2008 onwards, brand-new, passenger-friendly and air-conditioned trains will transform the journey across the Lötschberg into an unforgettable experience.
