Lötschberger RegioExpress + Regio
The more beautiful way to the Bernese
Oberland and the Valais
People who travel on trains which speed through the Lötschberg base tunnel may save a bit of time, but in doing so they miss out on a lot. The imposing Kander Viaduct, the turning loops around the Felsenburg (castle rock) or the impressive view down into the Rhône valley can only be experienced on the mountain route via Kandersteg and Goppenstein, which is more than 100 years old. That is why railway and nature lovers leave the Lötschberg base tunnel to those who are in a hurry and choose the more beautiful way to the Valais.

Audio experience on the "Lötschberger" taking a break during the 2015/16 winter period
From April to December 2015, a journey on the "Lötschberger" between Bern, Spiez, Kandersteg and Brig, as well as Spiez and Zweisimmen was even more of an experience – but when we change over to the winter timetable on 13 December 2015, the audio experience will be temporarily switched off. We will let you know here in due course when and how the audio experience can be enjoyed again starting in spring 2016.
