Train Charter - Nostalgic special trains

Steam engine Ed 3/3

Nostalgic carriages with 16-60 seats guarantee an unforgettable railway experience for up to 300 guests. Lean back and enjoy the placid speed of bygone days.

Thanks to the support of the Berne Steam Train Association, the Ed 3/3 No. 3 steam engine of the former Gürbe Valley Railways (GTB) from the year 1901 still takes passengers comfortably through the «cabbage country». The big Ec 4/5 No. 11 steam engine of the former Solothurn-Moutier Railways (SMB), which was built in 1911 and later was for many years a stationary reminder of times past, is now chugging through the Midlands and the Emmental again.

If you want to travel farther and faster, you can also have one of our nostalgic electric engines at the head of your train.

The nostalgic side-rod engine Ce 4/6 dates back to 1920. After being exhibited in the Swiss Transport Museum for some time, it has been back on the rails ever since 1988.

The «Budgerigar», too, is available for railway journeys that are out of the ordinary. The Be 4/4 engine owes this term of endearment to its original livery in light and dark green. The platform from which you can look over the engine driver's shoulder is particularly popular.
